Owl Pillow

(materials used: felt, buttons, floss embroidery thread, knitted scarf, printed woven fabric, small pillow form.)

Speaking of owls and gifts. I made this funny lil guy for my buddy Carrie. (Hi Carrie!)
I love the idea of knitting and I know how to do it but it is not that instant gratification I look for when making something. I always start a project and end at about a foot in length. These remnants either become part of Chewie's dog bed or they become owl pillows. If you don't have the same knitting disability as me then you can easily use vintage sweaters or buy a cheap scarf from Forever21.

I made these lil guys for xmas one year for peep at work. They were a big hit once I figured out how to decipher the directions.

Painting

I have an art degree from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) but learned most of my skills from family members and fartin' around at home with new ideas over the weekends. The hobby I do the most (besides work. yes, my work is also fun) is painting. I only use acrylic craft paints. You know the REALLY cheap paints you can find at Michael's and any crafty store that are normally used for tole painting. Not the easiest medium to start with cuz it dries fast and doesn't blend easily but I love it :)
Since I am so cheap and so is the paint, I normally paint gifts for friends when an upcoming occasion arrives.

SHE'S CRAFTY!

A self proclaimed bargain shopper (or maybe just cheap) I have always searched out things I loved in magazines and stores and figured "Ya, I can do that and for less." My sister and I, who always seam to be broke, have produce some pretty awesome things that are too cute not to share.
We come from a back ground of crafters and hobby enthusiast. My mom who has good intentions looooooooves to come up with ideas but never finishes a project. My dad however, will spend hours in his work shop and can produce any thing you need. Hey dad! Can you make a radio controlled boat? SURE!. Hey dad! Can you help me with my wood shop project? SURE! Hey dad! Can you make me this necklace from some scrap metal? SURE! (actually dad, I'm still waiting for that necklace!) Crafting even goes back to my grandma and matriarch of the family where siblings have fought over who gets what.
With limitless supplies at our disposal my sister friend and I have accumulated many splendid goodies and skills including: Mini top hats, furniture refinishing, amazing swapmeet luck, sewing, knitting, painting, and alllll the things we don't even know we can do yet that we want to share with you.
